Massage oils and wellness oils with essential oils
Massages make you happy and are good for you.
You don't need to be a trained physiotherapist to give invigorating or relaxing massages. Relaxation massages and those meant to invigorate are not about treating a physical problem, but about well-being, warmth, closeness, relaxation and revitalisation. Massages stimulate the circulation, for example. On top of that comes the physical attention, given with time and leisure, which together with the oils and scents – often used warm – stimulates the senses. The two senses of smell and touch are addressed particularly intensively during a massage, which is a strong contrast to how we experience these senses in everyday life. This is one of the reasons why massages have such a positive effect on body and soul. Regular massage also strengthens the bond in a relationship. Wellness massages like these are not only popular with adults. Families with children also massage a lot. Children love this time of physical attention just as much as adults do.
Wellness oils for relaxing and invigorating massages must be formulated so that the oil glides particularly easily over the body and can be spread perfectly. It also must not be absorbed into the skin too quickly, as the positive effects on body and mind require a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes. At the same time, the oil should not leave any greasy residue on the skin, so you don't necessarily have to plan time for a shower after every massage. Thirdly, the selection and combination of essential oils is crucial for the effect on well-being. Whether a good massage oil is invigorating, sensual or relaxing depends largely on the skilful blend and precise dosage of the ingredients.
When a wellness oil has the desired effect, it leads to comments like these, which we have received from our customers:
- A massage with Tropical Dream is like summer in winter
- I feel like a new person
- Now my holiday can be shorter
- I haven't felt this good in a long time
- It was an unforgettable experience for the whole family

Wellness oil
Essential oils such as rose oil, sea buckthorn oil and oils from tropical fruits are particularly suitable as massage oils and, because of their fragrant and therefore doubly stimulating components, are also called wellness oils or scented oils. Ballistol's wellness oils, with various blends of rose oil, sandalwood oil, pomegranate oil, grapefruit oil, hazelnut oil, grapeseed oil, rice oil and jojoba oil, sea buckthorn oil, bergamot oil, avocado oil, orange oil and melon oil, are therefore suitable for therapeutic massage as well as for relaxation, invigoration and simply feeling good. With these velvety oils you can experience wellness and give your skin soothing care.
Relaxation massages
Massages are not always just for treating physical complaints, which is mainly done by qualified physiotherapists. Relaxation massages, on the other hand, are often given privately without much knowledge of the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system. Whether it's a partner massage, a baby massage or loving attention for children, the focus here is on feeling good.
Romantic Rose wellness oil calms the senses and reduces stress, making it ideal for relaxation massages.
Invigorating massages
Every massage stimulates the circulation and therefore always has an invigorating effect, but with the right oils you can significantly enhance this effect. Our oils for invigorating massages include above all Sea Buckthorn Vital massage oil and Tropical Dream scented oil.
Skin firming, cellulite massage and therapeutic massages
For massages intended to improve the appearance of the skin, we recommend pomegranate oil or Neo Ballistol.
Pomegranate massage oil and wellness oil refreshes tired, demanding skin and supplies it with vitamin C. With its regenerating and firming properties, the pomegranate oil it contains is made for caring for mature skin. It helps prevent premature skin ageing by stimulating cell renewal. The skin becomes noticeably smoother and more elastic.
Neo Ballistol has proven itself as a massage oil in massage practices, hospitals, care homes and many private households. The oil has all the properties required of a good massage oil. This tried-and-tested massage oil has been made in pharmaceutical quality and constantly monitored for over 90 years. It is absorbed well by the skin and is also pleasant for the massage therapist to work with. Neo Ballistol is also used to help prevent bedsores. Pressure points stay so well supplied with blood that bedsores – the dreaded decubitus or pressure ulcer – do not develop in the first place. This does, however, require regular massage with Neo Ballistol. Neo Ballistol has also proven itself as a perineal massage oil during pregnancy in preparation for birth.
