Especially with babies and toddlers, you need safe mosquito protection. Not every product is suitable as insect protection for the little ones.

When selecting a mosquito protection cream for children, it's particularly important to avoid risky ingredients:

Active ingredient in Ballistol Stichfrei Kids & Family

Repellent: 10% Ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate.

Your family's protection begins with the right active ingredient. In the Bug Shield Kids & Family Cream, Ballistol deliberately uses the repellent IR 3535 (Ethyl butylacetylaminopropionate). This active ingredient is recommended by the WHO (World Health Organization) and the French Ministry of Health for babies from the age of two months and for pregnant women.

IR 3535 provides reliable protection, but ranks third in effectiveness after DEET and Icaridin.

Ballistol Bug Shield Kids & Family additionally completely avoids unnecessary additives.

For children from 2 years:

• From the age of 2 years, you can use Ballistol Bug Shield Spray with the active ingredient Icaridin, which offers even higher insect protection.
• Pregnant women and toddlers aged six months and older will find the perfect solution in Ballistol Bug Shield Sensitiv Mosquito Spray. Here, Icaridin is used in lower concentration.

Applying Bug Shield Kids & Family Cream

Ballistol Bug Shield Kids & Family is a ready-to-use lotion that reliably protects your family against mosquitoes and ticks in temperate climates.

Apply the cream evenly to all uncovered body parts – face, arms, legs and feet – while deliberately avoiding eyes, irritated skin areas and wounds. The cream absorbs particularly quickly. This significantly reduces the risk of accidentally rubbing the cream into eyes or mucous membranes.

When using sunscreen or other cosmetic products simultaneously, apply Stichfrei Kids & Family with a 20-minute delay. Do not combine with other insect repellents.

For adults, it is recommended to apply the lotion twice daily with about 10.6 ml each time to be optimally protected.

Application for Babies, Toddlers and Children

For safe and effective mosquito protection, you should be particularly careful when applying cream to your children. Children under 12 years absolutely need your help. Apply the cream especially carefully to the face. Always avoid the eye area.

Recommended daily dose for your children:

• Babies (2 to 12 months): 2.6 ml
• Toddlers (1 to 2 years): 3.1 ml
• Children (2 to 6 years): 4.3 ml
• Children (6 to 12 years): 5.9 ml

Pregnancy

Even during pregnancy, you are protected with the Bug Shield Kids & Family mosquito protection cream. The active ingredient IR 3535 is recommended by the WHO for pregnant women as protection against mosquitoes and ticks during pregnancy.

Ballistol Bug Shield Kids & Family is available as a lotion in tubes of 30 ml or 125 ml.
