GunEx MIL: The CLP gun oil with Mil-Spec performance

GunEx MIL is Ballistol's high-performance CLP gun oil, combining cleaning, lubricating, and protecting in one product. It reliably maintains your firearm, protects metal from corrosion over the long term, and ensures smooth function even under extreme conditions.

GunEx gun oil was originally developed back in the 1970s on the basis of NATO TL S-758, and is therefore built on decades of experience in firearm cleaning and maintenance. The latest generation, GunEx MIL (S-761), fully meets the current technical requirements of modern NATO weapon systems per TL 9150-0078,7 and is used worldwide by government agencies, military forces, sport shooters, and hunters.

As a true CLP oil, it combines the three essential functions of weapon maintenance:

1. Cleaning

3. Protecting

Whether pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun, flare gun, or captive bolt stunner: GunEx MIL cleans, maintains, and protects reliably. It removes powder residue, gunpowder fouling, soot, and lead or tombac deposits.

GunEx MIL is a fully synthetic, high-performance oil that is solvent-free and odorless. It dissolves resinified oils and greases without gumming up itself. It contains no solid additives, no silicone, and leaves no sticky residue.

Outstanding Corrosion Protection for Long-Term Value Retention

GunEx MIL was specifically developed to provide exceptional rust protection even under the harshest conditions. In its latest generation, corrosion protection and water displacement have been further improved and repeatedly confirmed to standard.

In salt spray testing, the oil proved effective for 72 hours at +35 °C. A high-temperature corrosion test followed, lasting 168 hours at +121 °C.

A material compatibility test was also conducted on steel, aluminum, magnesium, cadmium, and copper. Unlike some other oils containing EP additives, GunEx MIL did not attack copper or any other material tested.

Water displacement performance is equally convincing. In humidity chamber testing per FED-STD-791 (Method 5311), GunEx MIL passed the required 170 hours at +40 °C without any rust formation.

Extremely Durable in Heat, Cold, and Continuous Use

GunEx MIL was developed for use in all climate zones. Its optimized viscosity remains stable even in extreme cold, ensuring reliable weapon function from -56 °C to +150 °C.

The oil creeps into the finest gaps, dissolves resinified oils and greases, and keeps mechanisms running smoothly over the long term. Its wear protection ensures maximum service life for mechanical components. The oil also successfully passed the demanding Four-Ball Wear Test (FBT).

Tip: Combine GunEx MIL with GunCer Gun Oil, Ballistol's ceramic-based high-performance lubricant. Both products can be mixed. This combination delivers maximum lubrication performance across all areas. In field trials, cyclic rate remained constant even after 270 rounds in 5.56 x 45 mm caliber, despite the weapon system being heavily fouled with soot due to the suppressor used. This impressive result was achieved in part thanks to GunCer's special ingredients, which prevented buildup on mechanical components.
